The Greater New York Councils, a local council of the nonprofit Boy Scouts of America, named former Crain’s publisher Alair Townsend its president.
The Greater New York Councils, Boy Scouts of America, has appointed Alair Townsend as its president.
Ms. Townsend, the former longtime publisher of Crain’s New York Business and a current columnist for the paper, is a director of numerous organizations including Lincoln Center and the New York City Independent Budget Office. In September she also became chairwoman of City Center of Music and Drama Inc., the organization that manages the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center.
Ms. Townsend has been an active volunteer with the Boy Scouts’ New York City chapter for years, and has served on the board as an executive committee member and chair of the Development Steering Committee.
