Outdoor Merit Badge Fair

Troop 267, Founders District- Queens Council, invites ALL Scouts to participate in this fun and educational program for advancement.

LEARN AND EARN WHILE HAVING FUN IN THE OUTDOORS

May 27th – 29th, 2011
Location: Alpine Scout Camp- Alpine, NJ
Check in: Slater 8 @ 7:30pm – 10pm

ALL PARTICIPANTS WILL BE TENTING: SITES AVAILABLE- Slater 11,12,13,14, and 15

MUST BRING OWN TENT

Cost: $15 per Scout

All Scouts must appear at the Fair in full “Class A” Scout Uniform.

MERIT BADGES GIVEN: CAMPING, COOKING, NATURE, ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE, ORIENTEERING, PIONEERING, AND WILDERNESS SURVIVAL

Procedure: Must sign up as a unit. There must be an application for each scout in attendance.

Information will be mailed or emailed to you on pre-requisites of the merit badges that you will be taking. These pre-requisites must be done before coming to the fair. Scouts not prepared will be turned away.

Event Information

All meals will be provided by your own unit. Those who decide to work on the cooking Merit Badge can only pick two Merit Badges ($10).

Scouts must pre-register to participate in this event. Registration will be help in Slater 8 from 7:30pm to 10pm on Friday night. Each Scout attending must fill out a Scout registration form.

Supplies needed for the events will be provided, but each scout must have already read the merit badge pamphlets and also have done the requisites that are required. The list of required perquisites and a schedule of events will be emailed directly to the participants as soon as your registration is received.

Scouts will have the opportunity to pick three merit badges and work on them for the entire weekend.

Saturday, May 28th, 2011
7:15am: Opening Ceremony
7:30am – 8:30am: Breakfast
9:00am – 9:45am: Merit Badge Session 1
10:00am – 10:45am: Merit Badge Session 2
11:00am – 11:45am: Merit Badge Session 3
11:44am: Prepare of Lunch
12:00pm – 1pm: Lunch
1:00pm – 1:45pm: FREE TIME
2:00pm – 2:45pm: Merit Badge Session 1a
3:00pm- 3:45pm: Merit Badge Session 2a
4:00pm – 4:45pm: Merit Badge Session 3a
6:00pm: Prepare for Dinner
6:15pm – 7:15: Dinner
8:30 – 10pm: FREE TIME
