The Rose Project in Partnership with the Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art announces a Poetry/Short Essay Contest with Cash Prizes for the best poetry and or essay. Essays and Poems should be based on Roses or the theme of “how to make beauty in one’s life.”
Winners will be able to present their essay or poem at a free, public event at the Museum on Sunday, May 15, 2011.

Two prizes will be awarded on May 15th at the Rose Project event at the Museum. There will be a First Prize of $200 and a Second Prize of $100.
Submissions must be typewritten and postmarked no later than April 29th to the Jacques Marchais Museum of Tibetan Art, 338 Lighthouse Avenue, Staten Island, NY 10306.
Authors must be present to read their poetry/essay in order to collect cash prize.
Name, phone number and address of the student submitting should be at the top of each page
Decisions of the judges is final.
The contest is open to all writers aged 16 and under and the writer may not have published any prior works.
