Effective on January 1, 2012 a new and improved Eagle Scout Service Project Workbook will go into effect.
As of January 1, 2012 the Advancement Committee (National Policy) will no longer accept Eagle Scout Service projects for approval that are written up in the current edition of the workbook. If a Scout wants to use the current edition of the work book he must submit his project for approval in time for the Advancement Committee meeting of December 1, 2011.

It gives me great pleasure to announce the following new staff assignments and
promotions which take effect immediately:
Bob Madsen will be assuming new responsibilities as the Director of Support
Services for the Greater New York Councils, BSA.
In his new role he will manage all clerical support positions with the exception
of Accounting, working with supervisors to gather feedback on their performance and conducting reviews. He will also cross-train clerical staff and coordinate all office work flow. He will directly manage customer support, registration and information technology departments. Other duties include risk management, insurance, workers’ compensation, youth protection support to National BSA and office management. Office management duties include equipment contracts and repair, time cards, phones, work schedules, building relationships and office supplies. This additional focus will improve our support to volunteers as well as our internal operations.

October 15, 2011: It’s My Park Day – 10:00 am – 2:00 pm Egbertville Ravine Restoration. Meet at the entry road to the Eger Nursing Home at the intersection of Manor Road and Rockland Avenue. Wear appropriate clothing – long sleeves and pants. Light snacks provided.
November 5, 2011: Walker Pond Clean Up – High Rock Park. Meet at the Summit Avenue entrance. Summit Avenue is located off Richmond Road, SINY 10306 10:00 am – 12:00 pm. Join Staff cleaning debris from Walker pond. If you have tall boots or waders, please bring them.
