The Members of Troop / Pack 74 of Sacred Heart Church / School, are hosting a Car Wash fundraiser. This fundraiser is not to raise funds for our Scouts, not to raise funds to save Pouch Camp nor to raise funds for our church or school, but to raise funds for a family in need.
An eleven year old Boy Scout from Troop 77 of Our Lady of Good Council was stricken with a Disease. This Disease, MLC, called Megalencephalic Leukoencephalopathy with Subcortical Cystsis a neurodegenerative condition that affects communication between the brain and the muscles as well as difficulty learning. It is similar in some ways to MS. Both diseases affect the myelin coating surrounding the axons of the neurons.
Now I don’t know about you, but I cannot imagine being a young boy enjoying life one day and the next, to be stricken with this disease, not able to do the things young boys do or once did. As a parent, I could not imagine…
Times are tough all around and for some it’s even tougher.
Please come by and show support from one parish to another, one family to another, to one scout to another, a great cause for one truly amazing scout. Your money will directly go to helping this family with costs of renovating their house for wheel chair accessibility.
Get a clean car and feel good about supporting an activity that has a direct impact on the scouts as well as your community.
