TO: All Staff
CC: GNYC Board
FROM: Charles Rosser, Scout Executive
SUBJECT: New Staff Assignments
DATE: October 24, 2011
It gives me great pleasure to announce the following new staff assignments and
promotions which take effect immediately:
Bob Madsen will be assuming new responsibilities as the Director of Support
Services for the Greater New York Councils, BSA.
In his new role he will manage all clerical support positions with the exception
of Accounting, working with supervisors to gather feedback on their performance and conducting reviews. He will also cross-train clerical staff and coordinate all office work flow. He will directly manage customer support, registration and information technology departments. Other duties include risk management, insurance, workers’ compensation, youth protection support to National BSA and office management. Office management duties include equipment contracts and repair, time cards, phones, work schedules, building relationships and office supplies. This additional focus will improve our support to volunteers as well as our internal operations.
In addition, Bob will be taking on the huge job of coordinating our upcoming move to new office space. Finally, Bob will provide support and oversight to the new Director of Camping Services.
Sean Quinn has accepted the promotion to the Director of Camping Services, responsible for all Camping functions and staff. Sean will continue his excellent work serving as the Director of TMR but effective January 1, 2012 we will add an entry-level camping executive to support him in overall camping operations.
Joe Bradley, Program Director, will take on additional responsibilities to include supporting Bob in the office move until January 1, 2012. After that he will no longer have program responsibilities but will report directly to Bob in support of office, administrative operations and Journey to Excellence data management. Effective January 1, 2012, we will be adding a Program Director reporting directly to Chris Coscia.
David Tate will continue in his role as the Chief Financial Officer, responsible for the Council Treasurer, Accounting Department, Legal, Vice President of Finance, the Workout Committee, budget, cash flow, supervision of Human Resources, Wells Fargo relationships, Mutual of America compliance, support to the Investment Committee and assist the Scout Executive in major projects.
Join with me in congratulating Bob and Sean on their promotions, and welcoming Joe back to the support role we depended on.
