Basic Adult Leader Outdoor Orientation
When: 12 May, 2012 AND 13 October, 2012
Where: Alpine Scout Camp
Cost: $10 per person
BALOO is a one day training event that introduces leaders and parents to the skills needed to plan and conduct pack outdoor activities, particularly pack camping.
Participants who complete this training course will:
• Understand the focus of the Cub Scout level of the BSA outdoor program
• Gain the skills needed to plan and carry out a successful Cub Scout level overnight activity
• Learn more about the resources available from the Greater New York Councils and BSA for carrying out outdoor activities.
BALOO Training is required for an adult that is in charge of planning a pack camping trip.
BALOO will be offered as a part of the Cub Activity Day at the Alpine Scout Camp May 12, 2012 and October 13, 2012. The training will take six hours to complete and will run from 9 AM sharp to 3 PM in the classroom at the Activity Center. Coffee/tea in the morning and lunch will be provided as a part of the training.
