Greetings to all,
Yes it’s that time of the year again when Tom and I start planning for our upcoming Shooting Sports Weekends. To help us in our planning process we’re asking units that have participated in the past, as well as units that have expressed an interest in joining us in 2014, to please complete the attached “Commitment Form” and return same to both Tom and I by November 15, 2013.
Scouts age 14-20, you have an opportunity to join a contingent of Scouts from the Greater New York Councils on a trip to Normandy, France, in April of 2014.

Planning for this trip includes visiting London and Paris, as well as Normandy.

At a special meeting held on December 2nd, the executive board of the Greater New York Councils (GNYC), Boy Scouts of America, unanimously approved permanently preserving and protecting most all remaining parcels of the Scout’s Staten Island Pouch Camp.
“I am extremely proud of the volunteers and staff who have worked so hard for all these years to make this day a reality. This agreement represents a great future for Staten Island and all of NYC Scouting and Exploring”, said Alair Townsend, GNYC President.

The NER Area 2 Venturing VOA had a very successful planning weekend on Sep 13-15. The VOA developed the goals for our Area Venturing, established our calendar, put together our “Save the Date” flyer for our Apex along with our first meeting and did some teambuilding as well. All four officers and three advisors attended.
I have attached the Schedule, an introduction of our officers and our Goals/Strategies, as well as a few other items.
Below are the 18-Month Calendar brochures for Activities, Camping, and Training. Thanks to each of you for your part not only in putting the information together, but fulfilling the mission behind the Scouting Program!
Hope you’re all doing well! I’d like to share with you the GNYC 18-Month Activities, Camping, and Training Calendar brochures! These living documents will help as you and your Unit plan out your Scouting calendar for the next year.
